About Dr. Edwards

Crystal Edwards earned a doctoral degree in the field of sociology from the University of Nebraska in 2005 with a prescient analysis of mental health related foster care placement.  She has traveled and studied as far away as China. She remains steeped in the tradition of Nebraska community service.  A long time advocate for community, she has worked tirelessly to integrate service learning into the university classroom. This current project explores what life is, was, and could be in Omaha. She has taught as an adjunct professor at University of Nebraska Omaha since 2010, is on the Board of Directors for Mode Shift Omaha, a member of the Nebraska Writers Guild, and a published author.
