Crystal Edwards graduated high school from Ravenna, Nebraska in 1994.  She received her bachelor’s of science degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1997, her Master’s of Arts from University of Nebraska in 2001, and finally, in 2005 she earned a doctoral degree in the field of sociology from the University of Nebraska.  Not always an excellent student it might interest you to know that Dr. Edwards repeated kindergarten where she flunked skipping, an event that would forever change her perception of her own athletic ability.  She has traveled and studied throughout the world but remains steeped in the tradition of Nebraska community service.  She is a long time advocate for community and has worked tirelessly to integrate service learning into her courses.  Having taught thousands of students by now that means innumerable hours of service to the community both in Lincoln and Omaha, Nebraska.  This current project is an effort to better educate herself and her community about what life is, was, and could be in Omaha. She has taught as an adjunct professor at University of Nebraska Omaha since 2010 and is currently a freelance researcher.
